Corsair Diving Malta - About Us
Corsair Diving is a small family run PADI 5* Instructor Development Dive Centre owned by Christina and Chris with daughter Emily often seen around the dive centre wishing customers on their way each morning and welcoming them back on their return from their underwater adventures. We are located in the heart of Bugibba only a few metres from the famous Bugibba square and close to all the local hotels and accommodation. We are only a short walk from both Qawra and St Paul's Bay and we can also provide a free pick up from your accommodation in the local area when you are diving with us.
Staff Team
Christina
Christina is originally from Baden, Switzerland and before becoming a dive professional worked as an Environmental Engineer meaning that we at Corsair Diving Malta like to ensure that we have an environmental approach to all of our diving, regularly organising underwater clean ups but more importantly teaching all our divers to respect their environment and care for our oceans.
Christina learnt to dive in Thailand whilst travelling around South East Asia and since becoming a dive professional has worked in exotic locations like Thailand but also closer to home working in Greece and now setting up base in Malta. She speaks English, German and Swiss German fluently and also speaks French and Italian, a true linguist.
Chris
Chris is originally from Harrogate, England and before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor, worked as a secondary school teacher with Geography his specialist subject. Chris learnt to dive whilst spending 2 months volunteering at a Marine Conservation project on Koh Tao, Thailand, taking part in coral restoration projects, underwater surveys and turtle rehabilitation. This sparked a love for being underwater that has never diminished so Chris came to Malta with the intention of becoming a PADI professional able to inspire others to feel the same way about the underwater world.
Outside of diving, Chris' main hobbies include both sport and Geocaching, a GPS orientated outdoor treasure hunting game. He has even gone as far as placing some of his own underwater Geocaches at some of our favourite diving sites in Malta and on some of our world famous shipwrecks.
Emily and Lucas
Emily and Lucas are the youngest members of Corsair Diving Malta and can be regularly found in the dive centre greeting all our customers at the front desk and welcoming them back from their daily underwater adventures. Both already love nothing more than being in the water and in summer will often join us at the dive sites for a splash around.
Gordon
Gordon is originally from the UK and a former Military man which took him all over the world. During his time in Cyprus he learnt to dive but after leaving the army and settling into working in IT he continued to dive and teach in the colder waters of the UK.
Upon retirement in 2019 Gordon moved to Malta to enjoy some sunshine and dive in some warmer waters. He continues to love nothing more than to have his head beneath the surface of the Ocean.
Anna
Anna joined Corsair at the beginning of 2023, initially to complete her PADI Divemaster course but quickly grew to love the diving around Malta and completed her PADI Instructor course in April ready for a busy summer season.
With an academic background in Zoology and Oceanography, Anna has always been drawn to the Sea and becoming a diver was a very natural choice. Following over 200 dives in both the lakes of Austria and the Red Sea, Anna moved to Malta with the idea of getting closer to the Ocean still.
Anna loves the sunshine and warm waters that Malta has to offer. The best thing about diving with Anna is that she still has the same excitement and energy for every dive as if it were her first and an abundance of knowledge on all things Ocean related, whether small Molluscs or her favourite type of creature, Sharks!
Tian
Tian first dived with Corsair Diving whilst studying in Malta during the summer of 2020 and has returned each year to dive more and progress his diving skills. During the summer of 2022 he completed his PADI Divemaster course and began the 2023 with the ambition to become an Instructor.
Although currently completing his Undergrad degree back in Germany, Tian has been fortunate that he is able to do this remotely so can persue his love for scuba diving at the same time.
Tian has a major passion for sharing his love of the underwater world and loves nothing more than introducing this to people for the first time and seeing the excitement spread across their faces.

Our Name
Corsair Diving Malta is a tribute to the history of this great island. The original Corsair's were the pirates who for a long period of time protected Malta's shores from many an invasion as well as other coastal locations up and down the Mediterranean shores. Corsair Diving wants to extend this hand of love and devotion to the coastline and give everyone the opportunity to see it in all its underwater finery.
